Erbil Governor receives Delegation from Turkey's Republican People's Party (CHP)

Today, Thursday, May 8, 2025. The Governor of Erbil, Omed Khoshnaw, received a delegation from Turkey's Republican People's Party (CHP), led by Dr. Khurshid Gunesh, at the Governorate headquarters. In the meeting, the Governor of Erbil expressed his happiness regarding their visit to Erbil, the capital, and wished them a pleasant time during their stay in the capital.

In another part of the meeting, the Governor of Erbil expressed his hope for the success of the peace process in Turkey. He also reaffirmed that President Barzani has always emphasized the importance of the peace process as the only correct way to reach a solution. Furthermore, he affirmed that President Barzani, along with the President of the Kurdistan Region and the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, remain steadfast supporters of the peace process.
 

He also mentioned that they appreciate the CHP's current viewpoint and stance concerning the peace process and the Kurdish issue. He further stated, 'It is our hope that the peaceful resolution process for the Kurdish issue in Turkey will succeed.'
 

From their part, the visiting delegation expressed gratitude to the Governor of Erbil for the welcome, stressed the importance of bolstering ties, and highly commended the Governor's support and his expressed wishes.
