Governor of Erbil and Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Visit Erbil Citadel, Qaysari Bazaar, and Cultural Sites

On Wednesday evening, July 15, 2026, Omed Khoshnaw, the Governor of Erbil, received Haci Ali Ozel, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkey, and Erman Topcu, the Turkish Consul General in Erbil.
 

The Governor was accompanied by Aydin Maruf, Minister of State for Component Affairs; Falah Hassan, Head of the Citadel Renovation Commission; Ersan Agha, Advisor to the President of the Kurdistan Region for Turkmen Affairs; and Hoshang, Head of the Turkey Desk at the Department of Foreign Relations.
 

During the meeting, both sides discussed enhancing and further developing relations between Turkey and the Kurdistan Region. Following the talks, the delegation visited the Erbil Citadel, the Qaysari Bazaar, and several other religious and cultural landmarks in the city.

For his part, the Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister thanked the Governor of Erbil for the hospitality and expressed his appreciation for the peace, security, and freedom prevailing in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region.
