This evening, Thursday, July 23, 2026, Omed Khoshnaw, the Governor of Erbil, attended an award ceremony honoring a number of prominent and influential figures from the Kurdistan Region and central and southern Iraq.
These individuals were recognized for their significant roles and impact across various fields and sectors, including public service, human rights, non-governmental organizations, education, and teaching.
The event was organized by the International Rights Institute (IRI) for Human Rights, in partnership with the Humanitarian and Peace Ambassadors Club.
During the ceremony, the roles and efforts of the awardees in promoting the principles of human rights, peace, coexistence, and community service were highly commended.
Furthermore, the ceremony emphasized the importance of supporting efforts to build a just, peaceful, and united society.
