Erbil... Closing Ceremony Held for National Project to Strengthen Sustainable Livelihoods and Reintegrate Returnees

Today, Monday, July 27, 2026, in the presence of Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, alongside a significant number of administrative and government officials, the closing ceremony was held for the strategic project "Strengthening Sustainable Livelihoods – Promoting Returnee Reintegration for Long-Term Prosperity in Iraq (2023–2026)."
The project was implemented by the Rwanga Foundation in partnership and coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, the Federal Government of Iraq, and the Joint Crisis Coordination Center (JCC) of the Ministry of Interior of the Kurdistan Regional Government.

During the ceremony, the main achievements of the project were presented by the relevant authorities. The primary objective of the initiative was to provide job opportunities and sustainable sources of livelihood for individuals who were formerly displaced and have returned to Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, helping them achieve full reintegration into society.
Key efforts included developing and delivering intensive training on business plan writing and small project management, providing direct financial grants to dozens of returnees to establish their own businesses, raising youth awareness regarding the risks of illegal migration, and creating viable local alternatives
