In Erbil... A conference was held to advance women’s economic participation and provide a safe work environment

On Monday, August 24, 2026, Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, participated in the conference on developing and creating a safe work environment and advancing women’s economic participation. The event, themed "From Commitment to Action," was organized by the High Council of Women in coordination with the German Development Agency (GIZ).

During the conference, which was attended by a significant number of government officials, representatives of local and international organizations, as well as experts and specialists, emphasis was placed on elevating and enhancing women’s economic involvement across various sectors to ensure equal opportunities and protect their rights in the workplace.

On the sidelines of the conference, representatives of the participating parties and women’s rights activists highlighted the importance of translating official promises into practical steps, enabling institutions to become more suitable places for fostering women's capabilities.
