Governor of Erbil and UK Consul General Visit Cultural and Historical Landmarks in Erbil's Qaysari Bazaar

Today, Wednesday, September 16, 2026, Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, and Holly Vare, the newly appointed Consul General of the United Kingdom in Erbil, visited several cultural and historical sites inside Erbil's Qaysari Bazaar, including the historic Mam Khalil Teahouse and Yasin Kebab.
 

Following the tour, the Governor of Erbil emphasized that the capital of the Kurdistan Region is a welcoming home for all, noting: "We want diplomatic missions and foreign representatives to visit these landmarks and engage closely with the people, culture, and rich history of Erbil."
 

For her part, the UK Consul General in Erbil expressed her pleasure with the prevailing peace, security, and freedom across the capital of the Kurdistan Region.
