Governor of Erbil Receives EU Delegation, Reaffirms Support for Their Projects

On Tuesday, September 22, 2026, Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, received a European Union delegation led by Elizabeth Magnes, Program Manager at the European Union Delegation to Iraq, at the governorate office.
 

During the meeting, the visiting delegation outlined the objectives of their visit to the capital Erbil, which aimed to oversee and review the activities of the Migrant Resource Centre (MRC) and the National Referral Mechanism (NRM) center. Subsequently, the delegation provided a brief overview of their programs and strategies for developing these centers. They reaffirmed their continued support for the Kurdistan Region, particularly in regulating legal migration and providing essential advisory services.

For his part, the Governor of Erbil welcomed the delegation and expressed the Erbil Governorate's full readiness to offer all necessary support, cooperation, and coordination to ensure the success of the EU Delegation's projects. Emphasizing the importance of advancing these centers, he stated that the Erbil Governorate is committed to providing comprehensive facilitation for international partners to help them achieve their humanitarian and developmental goals.
