In Erbil... Breast Cancer Summit Held

Today, Thursday, October 8, 2026, the Breast Cancer Summit was held, organized by "Global Shapers" and the Idris Surchi Charity Foundation. The event was attended by Dr. Saman Barzanji, Minister of Health; Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil; Hemin Qadir, Deputy Governor; and Dr. Dlovan Mohammed, Director General of the Erbil Health Directorate. It also saw the participation of parliamentarians, consuls, and a significant number of physicians and healthcare specialists.
 

This summit serves as a crucial health and humanitarian initiative aimed at raising community awareness about breast cancer, particularly during the global awareness month for the disease.

Throughout the summit's activities, strong emphasis was placed on the importance of early detection, recognizing warning signs and symptoms, as well as screening and treatment methods.

These efforts are intended to enhance awareness, help mitigate the impact of the disease, and increase the chances of recovery. Participants underscored the need for continued health and social efforts and collaboration in combating breast cancer, alongside promoting a culture of proactive early screening and health preservation.
