District of Center of Erbil

This District encompasses three Sub-Districts: Ainkawa, Bahrka and Shamamk, and 379 villages. The Center of Erbil is situated in a plain area, and is neighbored by a chain of hills from the East and by the Greater Zab River from the West. The weather in the District is hot with dry air in summer, and cold with r ainfalls and low temperatures in winter. The spring is mild and moderate but short, and the autumn is moderate too, waiting for the winter to come. This District is situated in the center of Erbil city and encompasses the lands that surround and neighbor the city.
