In Erbil: World Day of Persons with Disabilities was celebrated
Today, Saturday, December 3, 2022. In the presence of Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, Zakia Sayed Salih, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs and Yousef Chawshin, Director General of Social Welfare and Development in Erbil and the President of the Association of the Disabled and a number of other officials and families of Persons with Disabilities.
Erbil General Directorate of Social Welfare and Development organized a special ceremony on the occasion of the World Day of Persons with Disabilities in coordination with Barzani Charitable Foundation and Bazar Media.
After the opening of an exhibition of handicrafts of Persons with Disabilities, Erbil Governor congratulated the people on the occasion of the World Day of Persons with Disabilities, which is celebrated annually on December 3 worldwide. He thanked the supervisors and organizers of the ceremony and said: “The Kurdistan Regional Government, especially the ninth cabinet, always follows the understanding and vision of Prime Minister Mr. Masrour Barzani, in serving the sections of society and looking at those sections that need more services, he has constantly instructed all government teams and the Ministry of Social Affairs to pay more serious attention to the needs of the disabled”.
He also said: “In addition to the work of the government, we appreciate the role of parents and families of people with disabilities, each of whom has been an important part in treating the pain that these loved ones have, we also appreciate the role of charitable organizations, donors and private sector companies that have been part of supporting and assisting persons with disabilities along with us in the centers and official places. Above all, the Barzani Charity Foundation, which has been at the forefront of humanitarian work in Erbil and the Kurdistan Region”.
