After the decision of the Prime Minister, in the interest of the poor and needy people and to eliminate the housing problem, the owners of the box land were given two months to submit their applications

After the decision by Mr. Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government to solve the problem of box land, on Monday, December 12, 2022. Erbil Governor, Omed Khoshnaw with Hemin Qadir and Massoud Karash, Deputies of Governor, Akram Ahmad, Governor Assistance, in the Governor's office, held a special meeting to establish a special mechanism to implement this decision and how to take measures to submit requests of citizens, with all the Mayors of Erbil province, the head of Erbil Municipality and the director general of municipalities. In the meeting, after discussing how to solve and identify a mechanism to solve the problem of land known as box land, which has been turned into houses.

However, the land has not been allowed to be turned into houses, focused on how to start the measures to resolve these lands, for this purpose, the meeting decided: -

All citizens who own land boxes, from today December 12, 2022 to February 2, 2023, for two months to submit their applications to the governor's office for the construction of houses and registration of their land. It is worth mentioning that for many years a significant number of poor citizens in the border of Presidency of Erbil Municipality and Municipalities of Erbil demand to solve the problem of land known as box land. Therefore, in the interest of the poor and needy people and to eliminate the problem of housing and solve the problem of the land, Mr. Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, decided to solve the problem of the land according to the law.
