The first phase of the Efraz 3 pipeline replacement project will be completed within 75 days
The Efraz 3 water project, which provides clean water to 40% of the population of Erbil and includes more than 160,000 water users, therefore the breakage of the pipeline in the past, would be a big problem for many residents of Erbil, for this reason, Mr. Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister, has approved the allocation of 21 billion dinars to replace the 11-kilometer Efraz 3 water pipeline. The previously used fiberglass pipe, which was approved by the World Health Organization, could not withstand the pressure of the pumps in the plant, so it often broke.
The new pipe is made of carbon steel and can withstand 37 bars. It is of very good quality and has a diameter of 1500 mm and a thickness of 14 mm. The pipes are connected with five layers of solder. With the completion of the works, the problem of breakage of the Efraz 3 pipeline in Erbil will be solved.
The pipeline replacement will take 90 days, but the contractor is expected to complete it in 75 days. The second phase will be worked on in the future.
