Erbil Governor: The democratic process in the Kurdistan Region has left a positive impact on the region

Erbil is constantly undergoing qualitative changes, according to the British delegation.

Today, Friday, February 10, 2023, Erbil Governor Omed Khoshnaw, in the governor's office received a delegation of British parliamentarians, Ministry of Defense, diplomats and representatives of political parties.

The governor welcomed the delegation and briefed them on the governorate's work agenda, implemented strategic projects, and ideas as a plan for infrastructure development in Erbil.

In response to several questions from the British delegation, the governor of Erbil referred to the region's democratic process, which has had a positive impact on the region. He also discussed the true nature of the problems between the Kurdistan Region and the central government, emphasizing the significant differences between the Kurdistan Region in general, Erbil in particular, and the central and southern parts of Iraq.

The governor of Erbil emphasized the importance of the United Kingdom in the international community, stating that the Kurdistan Region intends to strengthen its long-standing ties with that important country.

The British delegation, for their part, emphasized Erbil's qualitative changes and cited the continuation of this policy and approach as a significant step forward.

It is worth mentioning that Nabaz Abdulhamid, Erbil Central Mayor and the head of the Media and Information department in the Council of Ministers of the Kurdistan Regional Government were present at the meeting.
