President Barzani visits quake victims in Turkey to express the Kurdistan Region’s sympathies and condolences

Today, Tuesday, February 14, 2023, Kurdistan Regional Government President Nechirvan Barzani has visited Dilok province in North Kurdistan to express condolences to the families of the victims of the earthquake.

He is scheduled to visit several other provinces in Turkey and North Kurdistan, which were severely damaged by the February 6 earthquake.

After his arrival, Nechirvan Barzani visited the office of the Presidency of Disaster and Emergency Management (AFAD) in Dilok province and held a press conference in the presence of the governor and deputy governor of the province.

"On behalf of President Barzani, I extend my condolences to the families of the victims of the earthquake in Turkey and North Kurdistan and wish a speedy recovery to the injured," he said.

In his speech, the Kurdistan Regional Government President expressed the readiness of the Kurdistan Regional Government to provide any kind of assistance to Turkey.

  "Today there are funerals in every house in Kurdistan and we have suspended ceremonies in several places in order to express our people's condolences to the victims of the earthquake," said President Barzani during the presser.

"Turkey is a great state. It has overcome many difficulties and will overcome this disaster," Barzani added.
