The Governor of Erbil receives the Director General of UNESCO at the Erbil Citadel

On March 8, 2023, Erbil Governor Omed Khoshnaw received Ms. Audrey Azoulay, Director-General of the (UNESCO). During the meeting, the governor praised UNESCO's work and activities in Erbil, particularly the restoration and preservation of the Erbil Citadel as a world heritage site.

The Director General of UNESCO, for her part, expressed her pleasure at visiting the Kurdistan Region and Erbil, and briefly presented their work and projects in the field of protecting and restoring ancient and historical monuments in Kurdistan, the most important of which is Erbil Citadel.

Then, together with the Governor of Erbil, they visited the departments and locations where the organization is renovating.
