The Kurdistan Region has sent 50 tons of medicine and medical needs to Turkey to help those affected by the earthquake

Today, Wednesday, April 5, 2023, the Kurdistan Regional Government sent 8 trucks loaded with medicines and medical equipment to those affected by the earthquake in Turkey, in the presence of the Minister of Health of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Saman Barzanji, the Governor of Erbil, Omed Khoshnaw, the head of the Barzani Charity Foundation, Musa Ahmed, and the Turkish Consul in Erbil, Mevlut Yakut.

Earlier, through the Erbil campaign, several other convoys of aid were sent to the victims of the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, which consisted of food, heating equipment and many other supplies.

In turn, the Turkish consul in Erbil, Mevlut Yakut. thanked the people and government of the Kurdistan Region for providing assistance and relief to the affected people in his country, stressing that this proves the human and historical relations between the region and Turkey.

It is worth mentioning that on the sixth of last February, two earthquakes struck southern Turkey and northern Syria, with a magnitude of 7.7 and 7.6 degrees, followed by thousands of violent aftershocks, which left huge losses of lives and property in the two countries.
