The governor of Erbil visited the construction of 30-meter street box sewerage project
On Wednesday, April 19, 2023, Erbil Governor Omed Khoshnaw, accompanied by Deputy Governor Masoud Karsh, visited the sewerage project on 30-meter street in front of the Council of Ministers building. Which was implemented within the framework of the Erbil Governorate plan to deal with flood risks and prevent rain water accumulation in Erbil's city center, at a cost of 2 billion 429 million 370 thousand dinars.
During his visit, the governor, together with the supervising engineers and directors of the relevant departments, the Governor of Erbil expressed his intent to closely monitor the progress of the ongoing works and expedite the implementation process. He also stressed that the closure of 30-meter Street, a crucial and strategic route, has had a substantial impact on the traffic flow of nearby neighborhoods.
The water and sewage directorate in Erbil is supervising the construction of the box sewerage project with a length of 1200 meters starting from a 30-meter street near the Council of Ministers building and extending to a 60-meter street near the silo in Erbil, with 1000 meters completed and 500 meters opened in front of traffic.
This is one of the larger projects and will address the majority of the issues with rainwater accumulation in the 30-meter street as well as the pressure on the area's sewage networks.
