In the presence of President Barzani, the activities of the second day of the opening ceremony of the Barzani National Memorial continued

In the presence of President Masoud Barzani, on Friday, May 12, 2023, the activities of the second day of the opening ceremony of the Barzani National Memorial took place.

President Barzani stated in his speech on the second day of the Barzani National Memorial's inauguration that this edifice was built to refute the accounts of those who attempted to distort the Barzanis' history, and for the truth of this sacred approach to be revealed through the true narration of history.

President Barzani went on to say, "We were raised on the fundamental principles of piety, patriotism, humanity, and peace." He continued that the Barzanis had always practiced agrarian reform, land ownership, environmental protection, and women's rights, and that the reforms, justice, and equality established by the Barzanis drew numerous clans into their coalition.

President Barzani went on to declare, "I am convinced that if Sheikh Abd al-Salam Barzani had lived longer, Kurdistan's situation would have been much better," adding that the Barzanis were supporters of the Republic of Mahabad and that the first martyr who paid his blood for it was Barzani.

"Sheikh Ahmed spent more than 12 years in handcuffs and did not seek forgiveness from his enemies," he continued. As for Mala Mustafa Barzani, he travelled more than 700 kilometers till he reached the Soviet boundaries," praising the valor of the Barzanis' righteous forefathers, where he narrated a number of heroic legends and exploits left by the Barzanis.

In response to the current scenario, President Barzani stated, "We must not leave any opportunity for the enemies of the Kurds to gloat at us," adding that "there is a strong opportunity to solve problems, and we accept any peaceful initiative to resolve outstanding issues and unite the Kurdish house."

President Barzani recalled martyr Laila Qassem and her companions, calling them an honorable example of steadfastness, while emphasizing the importance of self-reflection and returning to the values of Barzani's approach to learn from what happened in Barzan endurance and faith.
