The Governor of Erbil receives the Acting Chinese Consul General to Erbil

The Governor of Erbil, Omed Khoshnaw, received the Acting Chinese Consul General to Erbil at the governorate office on Wednesday, May 17, 2023.

During the meeting, the two sides emphasized the long history of friendship between the Kurdish and Chinese peoples, as well as the need of building and developing commercial and industrial links between China and the Kurdistan Region in general, and Erbil in particular.

The Acting Chinese Consul to Erbil stated that his country is willing to establish annual courses for the development of human resources for KRG employees, and this year they encouraged many KRG employees to participate in various courses to visit China.

He invited the governor to assist them in constructing the Friendship Park between China and Kurdistan in Erbil, which will serve as a symbol of friendship between China and the Kurdistan Region.

"China is important to us as a major global trading country," Erbil's governor stated. We wish to gain from its expertise in human resource development in order to better serve the Kurdistan Region and its people."
