Erbil Governor: We want to thank everyone who helped bring Erbil and Nashville closer together
"We benefited greatly from our visit and learned from Kurdish history how great people are," said Nashville Mayor.
Today, Thursday, May 25, 2023. On the occasion of their departure from Erbil and return to the United States, Erbil Governor Omed Khoshnaw met with Nashville Mayor John Cooper and Chairman of the Nashville Sister Board .
During the meeting, the governor of Erbil stressed the need of developing links and coordinating efforts between Erbil and Nashville in the fields of education, health, culture, arts, and sports, among others, and expressed gratitude for US support for the Kurdistan Region.
He thanked everyone who helped to make the sister project between Erbil and Nashville a success, and he hoped that the visit to Erbil would be targeted at promoting the sister project between Nashville and Erbil.
The Mayor of Nashville and the Chairman of the Board of the Sister City of Nashville, for their part, expressed their appreciation for their visit to Erbil and the Kurdistan Region, and thanked the Governor of Erbil and the people of Erbil for their hospitality.
The Governor praised the Mayor of Nashville, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, and members of the guest delegation at a joint press conference, as well as the Kurdish Diaspora in Nashville and all those who helped bring Erbil and Nashville closer together.
