Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government lays the foundation for Dabeen Cement Factory in Safeen

Prime Minister Masrour Barzani of the Kurdistan Regional Government laid the foundation for the Dabeen Cement Factory near Safeen Mountain in Erbil on Thursday, June 22, 2023.

The project is one of the strategic initiatives that will create approximately 1,000 jobs within two years, as well as approximately 350,000 direct and 500 indirect jobs during production.

The project comprises of a cement manufacturing line with a capacity of 6,000 clickers, or 6,300 tons of cement per day, and a 52 MW power plant spread on 212 acres.

It will be implemented within 24 months by the professional business Power China with world quality and standards.

The factory, which is located 45 kilometers from Erbil, was established in collaboration with "Power China" and the "Dabeen" group over an area of 43 hectares.

It will be the most modern cement production factory in the Kurdistan Region, with a daily capacity of more than 6,000 tons and a yearly capacity of 2 million tons of cement.
