Riyadh: Erbil Governor visits Iraqi Embassy

The Governor of Erbil, Omed Khoshnaw, and his accompanying delegation visited the Iraqi Embassy in Riyadh on Thursday, July 6, 2023, and were welcomed by the Iraqi Ambassador to Riyadh, Safia Talib Al-Suhail, and the embassy staff members.

During the meeting, the Governor of Erbil commended Mrs. Safia Al-Suhail for the meeting and warm welcome, and praised her efforts and role in assisting citizens visiting the Kingdom, particularly pilgrims to the Holy Mosque.

He also stated the goal of their visit and their discussions with the Saudi Ministry of Investment, the Saudi Fund for Development, and Saudi enterprises. Safia Al-Suhail, for her part, expressed her delight at meeting with the Erbil delegation and applauded the governor's efforts, emphasizing that the embassy's doors are open to all Iraqi people.

Ambassador Safia Al-Suhail expressed her desire to appoint a representative of the Kurdistan Region to Riyadh to participate in the establishment of diplomatic relations between Iraq and Saudi Arabia, citing a legitimate right, and indicated that she would submit a written request to the Iraqi Foreign Minister in this regard.

Finally, the governor thanked the Iraqi ambassador and praised her diplomatic efforts as well as her fair labor policy.
