The French Consulate General in Erbil hosted the ceremony, which was attended by a large number of local and foreign guests. On the occasion of French National Day, President Barzani congratulated the French Consul General in Erbil.
 

The celebration was conducted in Erbil for the second year in a row in the presence of President Barzani, with speeches emphasizing the Kurdistan Region's historical friendship and strong relations with France.
 

The ceremony was the final event for Mr. Olivier Decottignies, the French Consul General in Erbil, who had visited the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) a few days before to bid farewell to senior officials.
