In Erbil… A meeting was held between the businessmen of the Kurdistan Region and the Islamic Republic of Iran

On Wednesday, November 15, 2023, in the presence of Kamal Muslim, Minister Trade and Industry of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil and Mr. Nasrollah Rashnoudi, Consul General of Iran in Erbil, a meeting was held between the businessmen of the Kurdistan Region and the Islamic Republic of Iran and the companies participating in the 5th International Trade Fair of Building and Construction in Erbil.

Both sides stressed the importance of promoting, improving, and enhancing trade and economic mobility between the Kurdistan Region and the Islamic Republic of Iran during the conference, and they hoped to further enhance trade and economic connections.

In a speech, Erbil Governor Omed Khoshnaw welcomed Iranian entrepreneurs to Erbil and thanked the Iranian firms that participated in the fifth Erbil International Trade Fair. He also emphasized the advancements achieved during the Erbil International Exhibition.

"The participation of 60 Iranian companies in the 5th International Trade Fair of Building and Construction in Erbil is a proof of the development of trade and economic relations between the Kurdistan Region and the Islamic Republic of Iran," he said, expressing his delight that a large number of Iranian companies always participate in the opening of exhibitions in Erbil.

The governor also emphasized the significance of the agreement reached between Erbil and Urmia as a result of the understanding and agreement inked between the two provinces. Trade, economic, and tourism activities at the Haji Omaran-Tamarchin border gate have advanced significantly.
