Erbil.. Laying the foundation stone for the Center for the Care and Rehabilitation of Orphan Children

on Thursday, November 16, 2023, in the presence of the Governor of Erbil, Omed Khoshnaw, the President of the Union of Islamic Religious Scholars, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Head of the Department of Non-Governmental Organizations in the Region, the Chief Public Prosecutor, the Deputy Consul General of the State of Kuwait in Erbil, and the head of the Kuwaiti “Habaa” Charitable Organization, In a ceremony under the slogan "A better future for our children" the foundation stone for the Habaa Center project for the rehabilitation and training of orphan children in the Kurdistan Region, with the support of some Kuwaiti associations was laid in Erbil.
 

The project is dedicated to caring for children from 6 to 18 years old, at a cost of 780 thousand dollars, funded by the State of Kuwait, where the center is built on an area of ​​​​2500 square meters.
 

In his speech, the Governor of Erbil thanked the Consulate and the State of Kuwait for this initiative. He also praised the efforts of the Erbil Municipality to provide the plot of land for the construction of the project which is located in an important area of the city. He appreciated the role of the Kuwaiti Habaa Charitable Organization and the activities it carries out in Erbil Governorate in cooperation with Kurdistan Regional Government.
 

The center, which is specifically concerned with the children of martyrs, is dedicated to the rehabilitation, education, training, development and care of orphan children, in addition to providing them with psychological support, holding courses to strengthen the skills of young people among them, and supporting their small projects to make their way in life in a way that is compatible with the requirements of the times and benefits society.
