 Baharka… Opening of the first Nursing & Midwifery Development Centre

In the presence of Dr. Saman Barzanji, Minister of Health, Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, Musa Ahmad, President of Barzani Charitable Foundation, Dr. Hemn Miran, Director General of Diwan at the the Ministry of Interior, Nabaz Abdulhamid, Erbil Central Mayor, Dr. Dlovan Mohammed, Director General of Health, Srwa Rasul, Director General of the Joint Crisis Coordination Center at the Ministry of Interior, Deputy US Consul in Erbil, representatives and officials of foreign organizations and a number of other doctors and nurses, the first nursing and midwifery development center in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq was opened in Bahrka district on Sunday, January 21, 2024.
 

The Erbil Governor, in his address, expressed unwavering support from the governorate for the center, ensuring the provision of all necessary facilities for its success. Emphasizing the significance of the center, he deemed it essential for the community.
 

The center, which is the first center in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, holds a crucial role as a healthcare and educational hub, actively contributing to relief efforts, nursing, and midwifery treatments. Beyond serving as a perpetual educational facility for health department graduates, it plays a direct role in supporting and monitoring citizens' health during emergencies, effectively managing challenging situations.
 

The project was built by the ROCAR organization with financial support from the LDS and direct support from Erbil Governorate.
