 Erbil.. A conference was held on empowering the workforce and providing job opportunities

Today, Tuesday, February 27, 2024, the Women’s Empowerment Organization, in the presence of Kwestan Muhammad, Minister of Labour and Social Affairs in the Regional Government, Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, James Goldman, the British Consul General in Erbil, representatives of non-governmental organizations and a number of administrative officials in Erbil, held a conference on workforce empowerment. Providing job opportunities and financial support for young individuals.
 

In the conference, emphasis was placed on the fact that women make up over half of the workforce in society, and the Kurdistan Region has presented numerous job and investment prospects for women across various sectors. Notably, there is a continual rise in the female workforce in the Kurdistan Region compared to central and southern Iraq.
 

In recent years, the emphasis on creating job opportunities for women in the Kurdistan Region has significantly increased. Notably, a substantial number of women hold high administrative positions in the institutions and departments of the Kurdistan Regional Government. Additionally, many women are actively engaged in the private sector, taking on roles in project management and supervision.
