Erbil… Display of some ancient artifacts found during the restoration of the Citadel
Today, Tuesday, February 27, 2024, the High Commission for Erbil Citadel Revitalization, in the presence of the Governor of Erbil, Omed Khoshnaw, the French Consul General in the Kurdistan Region, Yann Braem, and Nihad Latif Qoja, Chairman of the High Commission for the Revitalization of the Erbil Citadel, presented some ancient artifacts that were found during the restoration of the Citadel.
In his address, the governor emphasized that while Erbil Citadel holds historical significance for the people of Kurdistan, it is also a source of pride for civilizations worldwide. He highlighted our plans, in collaboration with UNESCO, to launch several tourism projects within the citadel. Simultaneously, the restoration of the main street of the Citadel is underway. Following this phase, additional programs are in the pipeline, and in a brief period, this historic site aims to evolve into a prominent global tourist destination.
