In Erbil, Zom Factory Commemorates Achievements for Provided Services

During the evening of Thursday, May 30, 2024, Zom Dairy Factory for Dairy Products Production and Development of Domestic Products celebrated its anniversary and acknowledged its achievements in a ceremony attended by Mala Mustafa Massoud Barzani, Erbil Governor Omed Khoshnaw, Safeen Dizayee, Head of the Foreign Relations department of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Dr. Mohammed Shukri, Head of the Investment Board, Ministers of Agriculture and Transportation, Erbil Central Mayor, and several other diplomats and working professionals.
 

The event recognized the factory as the top dairy products project in Iraq. The Zom Dairy Factory, recipient of the Iraqi National Trade Forum (INTF) award, had its foundation stone laid in 2020 by President Barzani and was officially inaugurated on May 30, 2023, by the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government.

Throughout its inaugural year, the factory has been dedicated to serving the local community, becoming its primary beneficiary. It has generated 100 direct employment opportunities and over 2700 indirect jobs for the residents of the Mergasur district.
 

The factory's objective is to ensure a sustainable income for villagers and livestock farmers by purchasing their animals' milk gathered at various stations. Additionally, it has promoted the growth of livestock breeders in the Kurdistan Region.
