In Erbil ... Civil Defense Equipment and Supplies Distributed to Rescue Teams and Rapid Response Units

On the evening of Tuesday, July 23, 2024, with the presence of Rebar Ahmed, Minister of Interior, Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, Major General Yadgar Faraj, Director General of Civil Defense in the Region, the Deputy Consul General of Germany in Erbil, and a number of German parliamentarians, the German Technical Relief Agency (THW) in coordination with the Joint Crisis Coordination Centre (JCC) of the Ministry of Interior, initiated the distribution of civil defense equipment and supplies to the Civil Defense Rescue Teams of Erbil and Rapid Response Units. The ceremony, aimed at advancing the civil defense system, took place at the Erbil Civil Defense Institute.
 

During the ceremony, which was also attended by the Director General of the Joint Crisis Coordination Centre of the Ministry of Interior and the Director of Erbil Governate Crisis Response and Coordination, the Minister of Interior and the Governor of Erbil commended the director and staff of JCC for their ability to establish good coordination with international organizations, especially with the German THW agency. They described this step by the aforementioned agency as an important effort to ensure that the Kurdistan Region is at an advanced stage in facing both man-made and natural crises.
