The First Phase of the Population Census Begins in the Kurdistan Region

On October 1, 2024, the Kurdistan Region Statistics Office began implementing the process of enumeration and numbering in the provinces of the Kurdistan Region.

In this process, more than 7,400 previously trained individuals visited all urban and rural areas of the Kurdistan Region. Following the methodology used in enumeration and numbering work, they filled out enumeration forms for all buildings.

The process began in the Ronaki neighborhood of Erbil city. Regarding this, Sirwan Muhammad, the Deputy Minister of Planning of the Kurdistan Regional Government, stated that in this process, the census team will be divided into several population blocks and distributed accordingly.
