With the presence of the Prime Minister, the graduation ceremony of students from the University of Kurdistan - Hewlêr took place

This evening, Thursday, October 24, 2024, with the presence of Masrour Barzani, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, the graduation ceremony of students from the University of Kurdistan - Hewlêr took place.

In a speech delivered in English, the Prime Minister referred to the graduation ceremony as a historic milestone in the lives of the graduates and their families, noting the pride and hope seen in the eyes of the graduates as they prepare themselves for a new phase in life.
 

The Prime Minister emphasized that the graduation of another group of students represents an important contribution to the progress and advancement of society. He expressed his hope that these graduates will play a significant role in building a prosperous future for Kurdistan and in elevating the region’s status and reputation.
 

In another part of his speech, the Prime Minister highlighted the Kurdistan Region's elections and emphasized that we are now in the preparatory phase for forming the tenth cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government. He stressed that the government must be capable of facing future challenges, which requires greater cooperation between institutions.
 

He also emphasized that the development of education and learning will always remain among the government's programs and priorities.
 

In his speech, the Prime Minister said: 'The success we achieved in the elections this week renewed the mandate entrusted to us by the people to achieve our goals. Therefore, I call on all parties to join our national project for reconstruction and development of the country through mobilizing the capabilities of all educational and learning institutions.'
 

He also indicated that having a unified stance regarding the importance and promotion of education and learning makes us an invincible force. There is now a new opportunity to unite our ranks, and it is the duty of the new government to face challenges and deal with security situations and economic challenges in unity, especially in a region that is experiencing complexity and instability.
 

The Prime Minister also pointed out that the Kurdistan Region has always been a center of stability in a turbulent and unstable region, and he emphasized that the Kurdistan Region will continue to remain, as always, a factor of peace and stability in the area.
 

The Prime Minister also highlighted some of the achievements made by the ninth cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government. Among these is the “My Account” project, which has registered nearly 700,000 public sector employees so far. In addition, the “Rûnakî” electricity project, which aims to provide 24-hour electricity across the Kurdistan Region, has seen significant progress, with over 50,000 citizens now benefiting from continuous electricity. He added that plans are ongoing, and the project will soon extend to Slemani and Duhok as well.
 

The Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of the agriculture sector, reaffirming the government’s commitment to efforts aimed at making Kurdistan a self-sufficient food source in the Middle East. He called on investors to contribute to achieving this goal through production and increasing agricultural output.
 

The Prime Minister also urged investors to rely on Kurdistan and take part in building a strong and united society. He promised to support all entrepreneurial initiatives, whether from government institutions or the private sector. He highlighted that determination and self-confidence are key to achieving success and reaching these goals.
 

The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to the parents of students for their valuable and priceless efforts in supporting their children’s education. He emphasized that today is a day to honor them and the dedication they have shown. In conclusion, he urged graduates to step confidently toward the future.
