Today, November 4, 2024, Erbil Governor Omed Khoshnaw, accompanied by Nasrullah Rashnoudi, the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Erbil, held a meeting at the Governor's Office. The meeting was attended by Deputy Governor Hemen Qadir and Shakir Hussein, Director General of KRG's Relations with Iran, along with the chairman and members of the High Committee for Iranian Pilgrims Reception who travel to Iraq's holy sites through the Kurdistan Region.
 

During the meeting, the Iranian Consul General in Erbil expressed his gratitude and appreciation to President Barzani, the President of Kurdistan Region, and the Prime Minister of Kurdistan Regional Government for their directives in providing extensive facilities and services to the annual Arbaeen pilgrims commemorating the martyrdom of Imam Hussein.

The Consul General also extended his thanks to the Governor of Erbil and members of the committee for their warm reception, cooperation, and facilitation provided to the pilgrims. He highly commended the Erbil Governorate's efforts in this regard.

For his part, the Governor of Erbil highlighted the Kurdistan Region's experience in receiving and serving pilgrims. He referenced the directives of President Barzani, the President of Kurdistan Region, and the Prime Minister of Kurdistan Regional Government regarding the annual provision of all facilities and services to Arbaeen pilgrims commemorating Imam Hussein.
 

The Governor also praised the Consul General's role in strengthening relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Kurdistan Region.
