The Governor of Erbil received a high-level trade delegation from Eastern Anatolia and the Turkish Trade Consuls in Erbil
On Thursday, January 9, 2025, Omed Khoshnaw, the Governor of Erbil, at the Governor's Office, received a high-level delegation from the Eastern Anatolia Exporters Association and Trade Consuls from the Turkish Consulate in Erbil, headed by Adham Tanriver, the Chairman of the Association's Administrative Board.
During the meeting, which was attended by Gaylan Haji Saeed, President of Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry, discussions focused on the relations between Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Eastern Anatolia Exporters Association. The importance of developing economic and trade relations between the Kurdistan Region and Turkey was emphasized, and joint cooperation was deemed significant. Discussions also covered the economic situation and ways to strengthen commercial movement, improve industry, and enhance investment between both sides.
In another segment of the meeting, discussions centered on revitalizing economic, commercial, and industrial activities, ensuring the provision of citizens' needs, and supplying regional markets with high-quality products. Additionally, the ninth cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government's focus on both trade and industrial sectors was another key topic of discussion.
Later, the guest delegation thoroughly discussed the available projects. On his part, the Governor of Erbil warmly welcomed them and emphasized that the commercial relations between the Kurdistan Region and Turkey are at a good level. He highlighted that the KRG’s goal is to promote trade, tourism, and industry with other countries. For this purpose, he stated that their doors are always open to any business, industrial, tourism, or agricultural project. The Erbil Governorate, within the framework of laws and regulations, is fully ready to provide all support and cooperation.
