In Erbil, a Forum was held regarding Trump’s return to the White House

On Monday, January 20, 2025, with the participation of Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, Dr. Kamaran Younis, President of Salahaddin University, along with a number of representatives from Kurdish political parties, intellectuals, university professors, and students, a Forum was held at the Kojer Hall of the Center for Intellectual and Cultural Studies at Salahaddin University. The event, organized by the Center for Political and Strategic Research at the College of Political Science in collaboration with the Lebanese-French University’s Center for Strategic Research and Studies, was titled “The Return of Donald Trump to the White House: Continuity or a Shift in Foreign Policy.”
 

The Forum focused on Donald Trump’s perspective on the Middle East, his interpretation of the war between Israel and Gaza, as well as southern Lebanon, the future of Bashar al-Assad’s regime, Iran’s nuclear dossier, and relations with Turkey. It also discussed Trump’s potential policies regarding Iraq, the Kurdistan Region, and Rojava (Western Kurdistan).
