This year's Newroz and Kurdish New Year celebration will be held at the main building of Paris City Hall

On Wednesday, February 12, 2025. Omed Khoshnaw, the Governor of Erbil, received Ali Dolemeri, the Kurdistan Regional Government's representative in France, at the Governor's Office. During the meeting, discussions focused on developing relations between Erbil and Paris within the framework of the sister-city memorandum of understanding between both cities.

The meeting highlighted the progress and developments that have taken place in the capital city of Erbil, followed by an emphasis on further developing, advancing, and strengthening relations between the Kurdistan Region and France.

During another segment of the meeting, plans were discussed for organizing this year's Newroz and Kurdish New Year celebration at Paris City Hall's main building, which will be attended by Ms. Anne Hidalgo, the Mayor of Paris, along with a Kurdistan Regional Government delegation and other city officials, with the event being organized through the initiative of Kurdistan Regional Government's representation in France in partnership with Paris Municipality presidency, aiming to deepen friendly relations between the Kurdistan Region and France and gain increased support from the French government and people for Kurdistan.
