In Erbil… A conference on water resource conservation and the implementation of natural polymer technology in agriculture and irrigation sectors was held

Today, Monday, February 17, 2025, Masoud Karrash, representing Erbil Governor Omed Khoshnaw, participated in a scientific conference on water resource conservation and natural polymer technology in agriculture and irrigation at the Erbil Provincial Council, where he delivered the Governor's speech highlighting the importance of water resources and practical measures taken by the governorate, with the event attended by the KRG Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources, the Head of Erbil Provincial Council, the French Consul General, and various officials from Kurdistan Region and Iraq.
 

Masoud Karrash, delivering the Governor's speech, highlighted the critical importance of water resources and their development, outlining practical steps taken by the Erbil Governorate team to address declining rainfall rates and serious threats to groundwater resources and agriculture sector, including the construction of ponds, implementation of new technologies, and distribution of sonar equipment to farmers, while emphasizing that addressing these challenges requires a long-term strategy combining government planning and citizen cooperation to ensure water sustainability and food security in Kurdistan Region generally and Erbil specifically, with the conference being organized by Erbil Provincial Council in collaboration with French company FARMERS.
