On Wednesday, February 19, 2025, under the supervision of Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, and with the attendance of Sarwar Hawari, Deputy Minister of Commerce, Karim Sulaiman, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Hemin Said Murad, Director General of Agriculture of Erbil, and a number of other relevant officials, within the framework of efforts to strengthen the economy and improve trade relations between the Kurdistan Region and Turkey, a meeting was held between the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry and a joint delegation from the TISIAD" association and the Mersin Port Administration.
 

During the meeting, the focus was on the economic situation and how to strengthen the relations between the Erbil Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Turkish TISIAD association and the Mersin Port Administration, as well as finding appropriate solutions for advancing the economic, industrial, trade, and investment situation between the Kurdistan Region and Turkey, especially at the Mersin Port, where traders are expected to transport their goods and commodities through the port from now on.

 

Regarding this matter, the Governor of Erbil, while welcoming the guest delegation to Erbil, the capital, expressed all possible facilitation and cooperation from the Erbil Governorate to ensure the success of their work. He reiterated that, as the Erbil Governorate, they have exerted all their efforts to develop and expand the economy, trade, and industry in their city. They are ready to provide legal and administrative facilitation within the framework of procedures, laws, and applicable guidelines of the Kurdistan Region, to all those companies, traders, and investors from Turkey so that they can play a role in advancing and developing trade, industry, and investment in Erbil, the capital.

 

In conclusion, after discussing and evaluating the economic situation and finding solutions for further advancing the economic and trade relations between the Kurdistan Region and Turkey, both sides emphasized their full support, assistance, and cooperation with each other.
