The Governor of Erbil's congratulatory message on International Women's Day

On the occasion of March 8th, International Women's Day, we extend our congratulations to women worldwide, in Kurdistan in general, and in the capital Erbil in particular. We appreciate all governmental and non-governmental organizations and institutions that advocate for women's rights in Kurdistan.

Kurdish women from all components throughout history have played a significant and effective role alongside men in various fields during our people's liberation movement struggle. Today, they continue to play vital roles in official and governmental institutions. The increasing percentage of women in all fields is an important indicator of the strengthening of equality principles in the Kurdistan Region. We wish them success and happiness.
 

Once again, blessed be this occasion, and salutations to the souls of all those heroic women who sacrificed their lives for the legitimate rights of our people and homeland.
