Erbil... Preparations for implementing the important and strategic Erbil City Green Belt project have begun

Today, Monday, April 21, 2025, Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, at the Governor's Office, received Mr. Kennedy, Head of the UNDP Erbil Office, and an accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, discussions were held regarding preparations for initiating the Erbil City Green Belt project, which is part of the Erbil City Master Plan and holds significant importance for the city of Erbil. To this end, both sides formed a joint committee between them for follow-up, clarification, planning, and working on the project, and they emphasized joint work for the project's implementation.
 

Afterwards, the Head of the UNDP Erbil Office, while expressing his organization's readiness to implement the Erbil City Green Belt project, thanked the Governor of Erbil for his continuous support, coordination, and cooperation with their organization.

In return, the Governor of Erbil highly valued the efforts and work of the aforementioned organization, expressed appreciation for the coordination and partnership with the Erbil Governorate, and wished them success in implementing the important and strategic Erbil City Green Belt project.

For this purpose, he showed all the support, cooperation, and coordination of the Governorate and the Erbil Governorate team. Finally, the preparations for initiating the Erbil City Green Belt project were presented with maps and data via a data show by the Erbil Urban Planning Directorate.
 

The meeting was attended by Karzan Abdulhadi, Head of Municipality; Hemin Sayid Murad, Director General of Agriculture; Mariwan Hadi, Director General of Municipalities; Chwas Abdulhadi, Director General of Urban Planning; Shukriya Abbas, Director of Urban Planning of Erbil; and Naz Jalal, Director of EJCC of Erbil Governorate.
