Erbil and Qazvin sign an agreement to Strengthen Economic Ties
On the evening of Tuesday, April 29, 2025, after the first meeting between Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, and Mohammad Nozari, Governor of Qazvin, held in the presence of delegations from both sides at the Qazvin Governorate headquarters, an understanding between Erbil and Qazvin was signed. This understanding between the two governorates is for the purpose of strengthening general relations, boosting trade and economic activity between Erbil and Qazvin, reaching agreements, and expanding shared economic interests.
The points of the agreement are as follows:
Point One: Both sides will take the necessary measures to facilitate investment, conduct trade, receive and send trade delegations, transfer technology, cooperate in developing the market for the private sector, and organize joint exhibitions for both sides.
Point Two: Both sides agreed to investigate and study the potential establishment of specialized zones in the fields of industry, trade, agriculture, tourism, and health within both governorates.
Point Three: The two sides agreed to maintain continuous meetings to discuss ways to sustain cooperation and to outline a roadmap within both governorates.
