Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Erbil, the capital, and the Iranian Governorate of Zanjan

On Wednesday, April 30, 2025, following the first meeting between Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, and Seyed Mohsen Sadeghi, Governor of Zanjan, attended by delegations from both sides at the Zanjan Governorate headquarters, the Erbil-Zanjan Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the two governorates. This understanding aims to strengthen general relations between the two sides, enhance trade and economic activity between Erbil and Zanjan, reach agreements, and expand mutual economic interests.
 

The points of the agreement are as follows:

Point One:
 For the purpose of strengthening technological and industrial cooperation, both sides will exchange views regarding the economic and trade situation and changes in regulations.
 

Point Two:
 Both sides will inform each other about activities that can advance trade between Erbil and Zanjan Governorates.
 

Point Three:
 Both sides will cooperate in organizing delegations of governorate officials for the purpose of facilitating cooperation in trade, tourism, industry, technical and engineering services, health, and the admission/acceptance of university students.

Point Four:
 Both sides will cooperate regarding exhibitions, international exhibitions, and trade promotion, and will support their members, individuals from their governorates to participate in these events.
 

Point Five:
Both sides will encourage and support the development of joint projects, investment opportunities, and mutual profit.
