Tehran... Iranian President receives Kurdistan Region Delegation
Today, Thursday, May 22, 2025, in the capital Tehran, Mr. Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, received the Kurdistan Regional Government delegation at the Republican Palace. The delegation was headed by Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, and included Dr. Ali Tatar, Governor of Duhok, Dr. Haval Abubakr, Governor of Sulaymaniyah, and Nuxsha Nasih, Governor of Halabja. They were accompanied by Arash Zarehtan Lahoni, Governor of Kurdistan, Reza Rahmani, Governor of West Azerbaijan (Urmia), Manouchehr Habibi, Governor of Kermanshah, and Faramarz Asadi, Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Erbil.
The Iranian President, during the meeting, expressed pleasure with the good relations between the border provinces of the Kurdistan Region and Iran and reiterated support for their agreements. He also conveyed the Islamic Republic of Iran's desire for coexistence, brotherhood, stability, and peace in the region, stressing the further promotion of joint cooperation between the Kurdistan Region and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The Head of the Kurdistan Regional Government delegation, Omed Khoshnaw, for his part, conveyed the greetings of KRG Prime Minister Masrour Barzani. He thanked the Iranian President for his visit to Erbil and reiterated the KRG's commitment to the historical partnership and relationship with the Islamic Republic of Iran at all levels.
Furthermore, he shed light on the measures and preparations annually undertaken by the Kurdistan Region to receive Iranian pilgrims and facilitate their journeys to Iraq's holy sites.
In conclusion, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran conveyed his regards and respects to President Barzani, Nechirvan Barzani President of the Kurdistan Region, and Masrour Barzani Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government.
