Governor of Erbil and Governor of West Azerbaijan Visit Pilgrim Accommodation Site
On Sunday evening, July 27, 2025, Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, and Reza Rahmani, Governor of West Azerbaijan (Urmia), visited the Erbil International Fairground.
The purpose of the visit was to closely inspect the preparations at the site, which has been designated to accommodate Iranian pilgrims traveling for the Arbaeen of "Imam Hussein" and visiting the holy sites in Iraq.
During their visit, they were accompanied by Faramarz Asadi, Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Erbil; Shakir Hussein, the official for relations between the Region and Iran; Kamal Hussein Pour, Member of Parliament from Piranshahr; Masoud Bateli, Supervisor of the Haji Omran International Border Crossing; Dler Mohammed, Director General of Tourism in Erbil; a representative of the Barzani Charity Foundation; and other officials from the visiting delegation.
After they closely inspected the preparations at the pilgrim accommodation site, the management of affairs, and the readiness of the teams, the Governor of West Azerbaijan (Urmia) and the visiting delegation thanked the Governor of Erbil, the higher reception committee, and the Barzani Charity Foundation for all the preparations and for providing services in the best possible manner.
It is noteworthy that in a few days, the process of the arrival of Iranian pilgrims for the Arbaeen of "Imam Hussein" and their visit to the holy sites in Iraq will officially begin in several phases, starting from the Haji Omran international border crossing into the Kurdistan Region and its capital, Erbil. In the capital, Erbil, all preparations have been made in the best possible way to serve the pilgrims, ensuring they feel as if they are in their own homes and among their own families.
