Minister of Interior Welcomes a Delegation from the Islamic Republic of Iran

Today, Monday, July 28, 2025, Rebar Ahmed, the Minister of Interior, with the attendance of Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, welcomed a delegation from the Islamic Republic of Iran headed by Reza Rahmani, the Governor of West Azerbaijan (Urmia).
 

In the meeting, which was attended by Faramarz Asadi, the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Erbil, views were exchanged on developing bilateral relations, especially in the areas of trade exchange and facilitating tourist travel between the two sides.

Afterward, the discussion focused on the Kurdistan Region's preparations for receiving Iranian pilgrims for the Arbaeen of "Imam Hussein," which is scheduled to begin this week through the Haji Omran international border crossing.

In this regard, the visiting delegation expressed their thanks and praise to the Kurdistan Regional Government for its cooperation and preparations in welcoming the Iranian pilgrims on their way to the holy sites in Iraq.
