The largest trade fair for packaging, canning, plastics, agricultural industries, and food opened

Today, Monday, November 24, 2025, in the presence of Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, Safin Dizayee, Head of the KRG Department of Foreign Relations, Dr. Mohammed Shukri, Head of the Investment Board, and a number of other consuls, envoys of countries, businessmen, and entrepreneurs, the eighth largest international trade fair specializing in packaging, canning, plastics, agricultural industries, and food was opened at the Erbil International Fair, with the participation of more than (300) local and foreign companies from 20 countries around the world, in order to further develop the agricultural and food industries in the Kurdistan Region.
Of the 352 participating companies in the exhibition, 62 are local and their products are produced in the Kurdistan Region. The participating countries include (Iran, Turkey, India, China, and European Union countries).
 

After the opening of the exhibition and visiting its sections, the Governor of Erbil, while highly appreciating this step, praised the supervisors and participating companies in the exhibition and expressed hope that the opening of this exhibition would be a factor for further advancement of the agricultural industry in the capital Erbil in particular and the Kurdistan Region in general.

It is worth mentioning that this exhibition comes at a time when investment in the agricultural sector has seen significant growth in the Kurdistan Region in recent years, and the Kurdistan Regional Government has encouraged and supported farmers through its projects and decisions. It has also provided many facilities to the private sector to work on revitalizing the agricultural industry.
