Announcement Ceremony for the Establishment of the Great China Council Association Held

On Monday evening, December 8, 2025, Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, participated in the announcement ceremony for the establishment of the Great China Council Association, which was organized by the Chinese Consulate in Erbil for a number of individuals who have visited China in the past two years, and the announcement of their membership in the aforementioned association.
 

At the ceremony, which was attended by a large number of government officials, heads and representatives of Kurdish political parties and factions, the Chinese Consul in Erbil, and a number of other businessmen and entrepreneurs, emphasis was placed on strengthening relations between the institutions of the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Chinese Consulate in Erbil, with the aim of creating a shared experience with China and deepening long-term cooperation and friendship between the two sides.

For his part, the Governor of Erbil, while congratulating those who became members of the Great China Council Association at the ceremony, thanked the Chinese government for its continuous coordination in transferring its successful experience and benefiting from it in the Kurdistan Region. As Governor of Erbil, he also emphasized strengthening relations, especially in the areas of economic infrastructure development, reconstruction, and services.
