Erbil... The Largest Campaign to Collect Aid and Assistance for Our Brothers and Sisters in Rojava (Western Kurdistan) Began Today

Today, Thursday, January 22, 2026, Omed Khoshnaw, Governor of Erbil, announced in a press conference that Erbil's largest campaign to aid and assist our brothers and sisters in Rojava, who have been displaced from their areas due to attacks by the Syrian Arab Army and are in urgent need of assistance, has begun.

He stated, "Based on yesterday's meeting at the Governorate's office, we decided to launch today the largest campaign to collect aid and assistance for our brothers and sisters in Rojava, in front of Shanadar Park." He added, "We hope that the people of Erbil, who are always generous and compassionate, can collectively provide humanitarian aid.

We hope to be able to help them." He also clarified that the most important items needed are food packages, clothing, baby milk, diapers, blankets, mattresses, and other daily necessities. He urged citizens, philanthropists, and the wealthy to bring these supplies that our brothers and sisters in Rojava can directly benefit from. The Governor of Erbil also stated that a cash donation box will be placed at the campaign site, and a bank account will be announced.

He further clarified that "this is entirely a humanitarian effort and has no connection to any political force or party; it is a campaign by the people of Erbil. Therefore, any philanthropist, individual, or party wishing to participate in this humanitarian process can deliver their aid and assistance to this campaign."

Finally, he said that all citizens, according to their ability, can bring whatever they can offer to the Kurds of Western Kurdistan to the campaign site, and that we should all collectively support and assist this campaign to deliver aid and assistance to our brothers and sisters in Rojava.
