Today, Monday, November 21, 2022. Erbil Governor Omed Khoshnaw and Deputy Governors Hemin Qadir and Massoud Karash held a meeting today.

The meeting was held to review the heating system in public places and households and the use of LPG.

At the beginning of the meeting, the governor of Erbil, referred to the unwanted incident on Thursday, November 17, 2022. In Sulaymaniyah, which was a heartbreaking tragedy and everyone was heartily worried and sad.

In this regard, while again condolences to the families of the victims of the disaster, highlighted the fear and anxiety of citizens after the incident, especially those public places and houses that use liquefied gas systems.

In this regard, he considered it necessary to review and follow up all the places that use this system as soon as possible and stressed that all the houses and places that install the system.

It must be installed with the knowledge of the Civil Defense and with world standard equipment and by a licensed company, qualified persons and accredited engineers.

In another topic of the meeting, after discussing and receiving comments and opinions of the participants on this issue, the meeting reached the following decisions: -

First: Raising awareness among citizens on how to use LPG systems and the dangers of installing these systems by unauthorized and inexperienced people.

Second: Monitoring all companies that install liquefied gas systems for restaurants, bakeries and households.

Third: No company or person should install liquefied gas systems for restaurants, bakeries and houses without obtaining the approval of the Civil Defense. Those who are currently doing this must visit the Erbil Civil Defense Directorate within one month.

Fourth: The civil defense stations will review all places that use this system.

Fifth: The committees (Center District, Municipality, Civil Defense and Oil and Minerals of Erbil) will monitor all places where the system has been installed.

Sixth: The Erbil Oil and Minerals Directorate will monitor the gas stations that have installed LPG systems for vehicles. The owners of the gas stations must visit the directorate within two weeks to receive new instructions.

Seventh: Establish a committee to review and set the scientific requirements as soon as possible.

Eighth: Erbil governorate through the College of Engineering of Salahaddin University will hold a scientific conference on LPG system and removing the dangers to the lives of citizens.

Ninth: Issuing several orders to the relevant parties in the near future, regarding the LPG system.
