The first phase of the paving project of Grd Jutyar local street has started at a cost of (1 billion and 267 million) dinars and the construction of two bridges was opened at Kornish canal
On Thursday, December 29, 2022. Within the framework of development projects in Erbil governorate and delivery of service projects, Erbil Governor, Omed Khoshnaw, accompanied by Deputy Governor Massoud Karash, opened the two bridges and laid the foundation stone of the first phase of the project to build and pave the local streets of Grd Jutyar, both projects have been implemented at a cost of (1 billion and 267 million dinars) on the development budget of Erbil governorate and 15% of the revenue of the Presidency of Erbil Municipality.
The governor of Erbil, about the two projects in a press conference for the channels said: "In order to reduce floods in Erbil City, after studying by the relevant parties, we came to the conclusion that part of the reduction of flood risks in our city were the construction of two bridges of Kornish canal that were opened to the public today, also the foundation stone of the first phase of the project of paving and construction of local roads in Grd jutyar will be laid today, which are four phases and the other phases will start in the near future. With their completion, there will be no place in Grd jutyar that has not been paved.
The governor congratulated the residents of the neighborhoods near the Kornish and Grd jutyar and said: “About the service projects of the Kurdistan Regional Government in Erbil governorate , whether those that are implemented from the development budget of Erbil governorate, or those that are implemented from the revenue of Presidency of Erbil Municipality and on the special budget, the aim is to serve the citizens of our governorate and on the instructions of the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government to serve the areas that need more attention and deliver more services”.
